National Oceanography Centre Southampton
The aim of this meeting is to present and discuss ship-borne satellite SST validation activities and results, and to share the findings of the partners in the ISFRN service.
This meeting brings together scientific and operational users and producers of in situ radiometer SST data to review progress, achievements and potential developments within the radiometer community. The meeting is open to anyone actively involved and interested in SST science and the use of in situ radiometers.

To register, please contact Ruth Wilson with you name and contact details, whether you would like to join us for a social dinner on the first evening (details to come), and state whether you would like to bring a poster for the poster session (please provide the title of your poster).

The National Oceanography Centre (NOC) is the United Kingdom's primary centre for providing National Capability for oceanographic sciences and a pioneer of ocean technology. The NOC is one of six centres supported by the Natural Environmental Research Council (NERC), and funded to work on national capability programmes. Travel and Parking
NOC is located within the Southampton Docks area and can be accessed by foot, bicycle, car or bus. Limited parking spaces are available so please email Ruth Wilson if you require a parking permit. Parking permits will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
Arriving by foot
NOC is easily accessible via lit pedestrian walkways from Dock Gate 4 and Doc Gate 5. It is approximately a 5 minute walk from the gates to the NOC.
Arriving by car
By car the NOC has direct links from the M3, M27 (W) or M27 (E). From London, join the M3 and leave at Junction 14 (the M3 splits east and west at this point but you can take either direction for the slip road to the A33 into Southampton). Follow signs to Dock Gate 4 and the Waterfront for approximately 6 miles.
Travel from Southampton Parkway and Southampton Central Train Stations
Southampton Central Railway Station:
The Uni-link Bus service (U1C City Centre and NOC) bus departs every 10 minutes from outside the station, the journey takes approximately 20 minutes. Current fares: £2 single £3.50 return (a return ticket allows unlimited travel all day on all Uni-link services).
The Quayconnect bus service runs from Southampton central via Asda and West Quay to Town Quay. It is then approximately a 15 minute walk from Town Quay to NOC (the route can be viewed here).
National Express coaches call at Southampton Central bus station which is a 5 minute walk to Southampton Central railway station, from which local buses can be taken to NOC (as detailed above). Time tables can be found on the National Express website.
Southampton Airport Parkway:
The Southampton Airport Parkway railway station is immediately adjacent to Southampton Airport. A train journey to Southampton central takes approximately 8 minutes, or the U1C bus departs every 20 minutes from outside the station, and the journey takes approximately 50 minutes. Taxi ranks are located outside each of the train stations. A taxi directly to the National Oceanography Centre Southampton will take approximately 20 minutes from either station.
